We are proud to collaborate with our fellow nonprofits to bring the Montana Street Homes to this community, including Garden City Harvest, the Missoula Food Bank and Trust Montana. We are partnering with Trust Montana, a nonprofit, to create a Community Land Trust (CLT) for the Montana Street Homes Property. The land will be held in ownership by Trust Montana permanently and homebuyers will lease the land under their home via renewable, inheritable 75-year ground leases. This form of ownership ensures long-term affordability for current and future homeowners. A CLT is an excellent alternative to renting since the homebuyer will own their home, build equity and experience and benefit from the savings in cost of land being held in trust.
